Where You Will Play in Prague

Prague has the largest playing area and the most treasures of any TerraHunt city: 73 treasures spread from Wenceslas Square to Hradčany Square and from the Jewish Quarter to Žofín island. The historic center is simply that big, and there is something worth a stop on every corner.

No team visits them all. One team may stay in the Old Town, another crosses Charles Bridge to the Lesser Town, a third circles Prague Castle. How far a team gets depends on the time you give the game, its pace, and how badly it wants to win. The center is well lit, so an evening game works as well as an afternoon one.

Meeting Point and Timing

The usual start and finish is at the Rudolfinum; large groups meet on Hradčany Square or in Stromovka park. Your office, hotel, or the restaurant booked for the evening works too, as long as it is close to the playing area.

We recommend 2 to 2.5 hours of play and never more than three, so that motivation stays high. Prague is also the one city where a split program comes naturally: play in the morning, break for lunch, continue in the afternoon.

Who the Prague Game Is For

Employees, business partners, clients, or conference visitors: nobody needs any knowledge or skill, just comfortable shoes and a competitive streak. In December the game is a popular opening act for Christmas parties, with the results announced at the party restaurant.

Prague is our most played and most frequently revised game. Teams that already know it get a second chance at Treasure Hunt Vyšehrad, a shorter game in another part of the city.

Recommended schedule

We will set up the game according to your time availability, however, we recommend the schedule below:

TimeActivity
15 minrules, check of tablets and the app, division into teams
1.5 - 2.5 hoursgame in the center of Prague
10 mintransfer to the agreed meeting point
05 minevaluation and announcement of the winning team

Prague questions

Treasure Hunt Prague: What Organizers Ask Us

Why does Prague have 73 treasures, more than any other TerraHunt city?

Prague is the capital, and its historic center is unusually large, with something to see on every corner. Nobody has to visit all 73 treasures. A team can stay in the Old Town only, play just the Lesser Town, or circle Prague Castle. Which treasures to go for is entirely the team’s decision.

Can we play in the evening, after dark?

Yes. Unlike some of our games in smaller towns, Prague is not limited by nightfall: the historic center is very well lit, so an evening slot after a conference day works.

Can Treasure Hunt open our Christmas party in Prague?

This is one of the most popular ways to use the Prague game. Czech companies and visiting teams alike start the Treasure Hunt in the afternoon and hold the results ceremony in the restaurant where the Christmas, year-end, or New Year party takes place. The party then is not only about food and drink: everyone arrives with a shared experience from the city, and the teams talk about it all evening. How to plan the rest of the evening: Corporate Christmas Party: Planning Guide on the Z-AGENCY blog.

We are coming in December. Do the Christmas markets get in the way?

Count on it a little. Some treasures sit on squares that fill with stalls, stages, and attractions during the Christmas markets, and a treasure behind a mulled-wine stand may be out of reach. We do not switch those treasures off: a Treasure Hunt gives every team the same conditions, so if one team cannot get to a treasure, neither can the others, and nobody is disadvantaged. The game simply has a few fewer reachable treasures that day.

How long should the Prague game last?

With this many treasures the game could run for hours, but we recommend a maximum of 3 hours of play to keep motivation high. Most groups play 2 to 2.5 hours plus the briefing and the results. Prague is also the best city for a split program: play in the morning, break for lunch, and continue in the afternoon.

Our team has already played Treasure Hunt Prague. Is there an alternative?

Yes. Treasure Hunt Vyšehrad is a smaller game of about two hours in a different part of Prague, a good second visit for teams that know the historic center.

How up to date are the questions and locations?

Prague is our most frequently checked and revised game. Because it hosts the most events, its treasures and questions are reviewed more often than any other city.

What if it rains during the game?

Rain does not stop the game. With full service every player gets a disposable poncho, each team an umbrella, and the tablets are IP68 rated, so wet screens do not trigger answers by accident. If the weather turns truly hostile, we move the group to an indoor Story Game.

Can you handle a booking for next week?

Usually yes. Prague is our busiest city and our instructors are nearby, so short notice is normal. In the peak season, when several Treasure Hunts run on the same day, a last-minute date may be offered as the self-service version on the players’ phones. One way or another, you always get a game.

Will we get the results and the photos afterwards?

You receive a link to a password-protected results page that stays online for six months: team ranking, points, right and wrong answers, hints used, kilometers walked, each team’s route on the map, and every photo the teams took, available to download.

Treasure Hunt Prague for Agencies and Congress Organizers

Prague is where TerraHunt® runs most of its events, which makes it the easiest city to plan around. The largest playing area and the most treasures of any of our cities mean the game scales from a small board meeting to a conference with several hundred participants.

  • Flexible timing: a morning game, a lunch break, and an afternoon finale; or an evening slot, since the lit historic center allows play after dark.
  • Christmas and year-end parties: an afternoon game with the winners announced at the party restaurant is a Prague classic, for Czech companies and international groups alike (see the Christmas party planning guide).
  • Repeat clients: groups that already know Treasure Hunt Prague get Treasure Hunt Vyšehrad, a two-hour game in another part of the city.
  • Delivery: our instructors with tablets, or the self-service version on the players’ phones when you want to host the program yourself.
  • Your proposal: send us the date, the group size, the hotel or venue, and the languages, and we come back with a schedule and meeting point.

Thank you for organizing the Treasure Hunt in Mikulov. I have not a single complaint about the organization. The event was perfectly prepared and this type of game draws in even the less active participants.
