Two Banks, One Game
Budapest gives you two games in one. On the Buda side the treasures cluster around Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion, and Gellért Hill; across the river in Pest they run from the Parliament along Andrássy Avenue to the Great Market Hall. All 56 treasures are open to every team, and each team decides how much of the city it wants.
A team that prefers a gentler afternoon can stay in the oldest part around the castle; an ambitious one crosses the Danube and goes for the distant points as well. Points, not distance, decide the winner.
Where the Game Starts and Ends
Smaller groups meet by the Chain Bridge or on the square in front of the Parliament; larger events use the space around Buda Castle or on Margaret Island. The start and the finish follow your agenda, from the company headquarters to the hotel or the restaurant where the evening continues.
Our instructors travel from Brno, so an afternoon start lets them arrive the same day; a morning game means they come the day before. The self-service version on your own phones has no such constraint.
Who Plays in Budapest
Almost always international groups: companies in town for a congress, a conference, a training, or a company meeting who want an afternoon in the city that their participants will remember. No preparation is needed, only curiosity and a taste for solving things together.
Plan 2 to 3 hours for the game itself. Budapest’s historic center is the backdrop; the TerraHunt® app and the other teams on the live map supply the pace.

Planning Treasure Hunt Budapest: Answers Before You Ask
Why do you recommend an afternoon start in Budapest?
Our instructors travel to Budapest from Brno, and we send them often. With a start at one or two in the afternoon the team drives in the same day. A morning start means they arrive the day before, which adds a travel day and a night’s accommodation to your proposal. Both are possible; the afternoon is simpler.
Can we run the game without your team on site?
Yes, and in Budapest many clients do. In the self-service version your participants play on their own phones with our instructions, there is no travel day to cover, and you set the start time freely, mornings included.
Buda or Pest: which bank of the Danube do we play on?
Both. The 56 treasures sit on both banks, so you can think of it as two games in one: a castle area on the Buda side and a city-center area in Pest. As everywhere, you get the full game and the teams decide where to go. Anyone who is less fit, or less keen, can stay with the treasures in the oldest part around Buda Castle; an ambitious team crosses the river and collects the distant ones too.

Budapest is one of our more popular capitals, and the typical group is in town for a congress, a conference, a training, or a company meeting and wants an afternoon in the city that is more than a guided walk. Czech companies book it rarely; the historic center is what brings groups here.
In which languages can we play in Budapest?
With our team the game runs in English or Czech, like every TerraHunt program. A Hungarian version of the game exists as well, but we do not deliver it ourselves: our local partner in Budapest runs it and sells it through their own channels.
Do all 56 treasures stay open in Advent?
Mostly. In December some squares turn into Christmas markets, and a treasure that ends up behind a stall or a stage is out of reach for a while. We keep it switched on: in a Treasure Hunt every team plays under the same conditions, so what one team cannot reach, no team can, and the ranking stays fair.
Does the game go ahead in bad weather?
It does. For a full-service game we bring disposable ponchos for everyone and an umbrella per team, and the tablets are IP68 rated, so rain on the screen does not count as an answer. Only if the weather makes the outdoors pointless do we switch the group to an indoor Story Game.
How quickly can you confirm a Budapest date?
A last-minute Budapest date is, as a rule, a self-service game: it needs no travel day and can start whenever you like. A game with our instructors on site takes a little planning, because the team drives in from Brno and the start time decides whether they travel the same day or the day before. At the height of the season this is even more true, since several games may run on one day.
What stays with us after the game?
A password-protected results page on the game server, kept for six months: ranking, points, correct and wrong answers, hints, kilometers walked, every team’s route on the map, and the photos the teams took, all downloadable.

Selling Treasure Hunt Budapest to Your Clients
Budapest is the farthest capital we run from Brno, and it is still a regular destination for our TerraHunt® instructors. Nearly every booking comes from an international group in town for a congress, a conference, or a company meeting, which is exactly the audience agencies and DMCs bring. The planning then comes down to one question: full service with our team, or self-service on the players’ phones.
- Full service: instructors with tablets for the whole group, 56 treasures on both banks of the Danube: a castle area in Buda and a city-center area in Pest, and every team picks its own mix.
