Where You Will Play in Krakow
The 40 treasures sit in Krakow’s Old Town, where the historic center is a church next to a monument next to another monument: Wawel Castle, Rynek Główny, the largest medieval square in Europe, the Sukiennice, St. Mary’s Basilica, St. Florian’s Gate, and the Barbican. A few treasures wait on the edge of the center, in the parks of the Planty ring.
Teams at a slower pace stick to the square and the castle; those with more appetite take in the Słowacki Theatre and the lesser-known corners. Every question is tied to the place where the team stands, so expect Krakow details, not a quiz about Poland. The terrain is flat and the mobile signal is good.
Meeting Point, Hotels, and Large Groups
Hotels in the Old Town and around Rynek Główny are inside the playing area, so the game starts and finishes at the hotel. From the ICE Krakow congress center or the edge of Kazimierz allow 10 to 15 minutes by tram or on foot; day visitors can start at the main railway station or in the Planty.
The Old Town is strict about permits and parking, so for 100 to 200 people we hold the briefing in the hotel conference room and the group travels by bus to the edge of the playing area by Wawel, where coaches can stop.
Who the Krakow Game Is For
Groups in Krakow for a congress, a conference, or a training that are looking for an afternoon out in the city; we have run the game in Czech for a Czech conference group as well. Dinner at one of the renowned restaurants by the square or in Kazimierz is the natural ending.
Krakow is a 4.5-hour drive from our base, so our instructors arrive the day before: full service suits medium to large groups, while a small group does better with a self-service game on the players’ phones. Plan 2 to 3 hours of play, or 90 minutes for a quick game around the square.

Full service or self-service: which one makes sense in Krakow?
It depends on the size of your group. Krakow is a 4.5-hour drive from our base in Brno, so our instructors normally arrive the day before. For a medium, large, or very large group that is worth it, and the full-service game with tablets and instructors is the better experience. For a small group the travel day outweighs the benefit, and we recommend the self-service version on your own phones.
Can the game be played in Polish?
Not as a standard option. The game runs in English and Czech. A Polish translation is technically possible in the TerraHunt® platform, but nobody on our team speaks Polish well enough to check it, so we only offer it together with a local partner, a Krakow travel or event agency, who reviews the translation thoroughly. If you are such a partner, let us know.
Who usually plays Treasure Hunt Krakow?
Mostly companies that are in Krakow for a congress, a conference, or a training and want an afternoon in the city for their participants. We have even run the Krakow game in Czech for a Czech conference group.
Where should a group of 100 or 200 people start in Krakow?
Not on a busy square. Krakow’s historic center is strict about group events, permits, and parking, so for large groups we hold the briefing in the conference room of the hotel, usually one of the big hotels outside the center. The teams then go by bus to the edge of the playing area near Wawel Castle, where coaches can stop, and start the game from there. Count on this when you plan the schedule.
What is the terrain like?
Flat and easy. The historic center is a church next to a monument next to another monument, so the 40 treasures come thick and fast around Rynek Główny and Wawel. A few treasures also sit on the edge of the center, in the parks of the Planty ring, for teams that want to walk a little more.
Is mobile coverage a problem for foreign participants?
No. Signal in central Krakow is fine, so the game runs smoothly on our tablets and on your own phones alike.
What can follow the game?
Dinner. Krakow has a number of renowned restaurants around Rynek Główny and in Kazimierz, and the results ceremony works well as the opening of the evening. We can finish the game right at the restaurant you choose.
Does the Krakow Christmas market affect the game?
Slightly. In December the market fills Rynek Główny with stalls, and a treasure hidden behind one of them may be unreachable for a few weeks. We keep it in the game on purpose: all teams play under identical conditions, so a blocked treasure is blocked for everyone and the ranking stays fair.

Rain does not cancel the game: ponchos for everyone, an umbrella per team, and IP68 tablets with full service; in truly hostile weather we switch to an indoor Story Game. After the game you get a password-protected results page for six months with ranking, answers, hints, kilometers, each team’s route on the map, and all team photos to download.

Treasure Hunt Krakow: Notes for Agencies and Local Partners
Krakow is the farthest of our five cities from Brno, so two things decide a booking: the size of the group and the language. Both are easy to settle up front.
- Group size: medium to very large groups get our instructors and tablets, who travel in the day before. For small groups we recommend self-service on the players’ phones, with your staff hosting the briefing.
- Languages: English or Czech. Polish only together with a local Krakow partner who reviews our translation; if you are a Krakow travel or event agency, this is the partnership we are looking for.
- Venues: hotels in the Old Town and around Rynek Główny are inside the playing area; from the ICE Krakow congress center or Kazimierz allow 10 to 15 minutes by tram or on foot.
- Large groups: the Old Town is strict on permits and parking, so a briefing for 100 to 200 people belongs in the hotel conference room, with buses to the edge of the playing area by Wawel, not a start on a crowded square.
