Halloween Treasure Hunt in the City at Dusk

A Halloween Treasure Hunt sends corporate teams into the streets of Prague or Brno at dusk to hunt for treasures with a special set of Halloween questions. The route ends right at your party venue.

A Halloween Treasure Hunt is a city game for corporate teams that starts at dusk and ends right at your Halloween party. Teams make their way through Prague or Brno with tablets or phones running our GPS app, hunt for treasures on the map and answer questions from a special Halloween set at each of them. The last of the treasures waits right at the party door.

The Game at a Glance

The whole evening follows a simple flow that even a first-time corporate event planner can handle.

  • Start in the city at dusk (in Prague or Brno)
  • Teams see the treasures on a map on their tablets or phones and choose where to head next
  • A question waits at each of the treasures, and some of them come from a special Halloween set
  • The route ends right at the party venue, where the fun keeps going

Where Halloween Came From

Halloween’s roots go back to the Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest and the start of the dark half of the year. People believed that on this night the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead was at its thinnest.

According to the Irish legend of Jack-o’-Lantern, candles were placed inside hollowed-out turnips to ward off wandering souls. Emigrants took this custom with them to America, where the turnip gave way to the pumpkin, which was bigger and far more practical to carve.

You’ll find the full history of the holiday and tips for a Halloween company party on z-agency.cz. This article stays outside, in the streets.

How the Game Works

The game runs on tablets or phones with our GPS app. On the on-screen map, the team sees all the treasures at once and decides for itself in what order to visit them.

As soon as a team reaches one of the treasures, a question opens. The Halloween version adds a special set of Halloween questions to the location-based ones, so a single evening blends knowledge of the city with what everyone knows about pumpkins, vampires and spooky legends. The whole team answers, so colleagues have to agree and solve each task together.

The number of treasures doesn’t decide the winner. Every game keeps a team busy for 2 to 3 hours, and more treasures mainly means more room for strategy.

We’ve been running Treasure Hunts since 2013, and it’s the free order of the treasures that turns a walk into a great game: one team rushes to the nearest point, while another studies the map first and plans the ideal loop.

Playing at Dusk

The start is timed for dusk. Teams search for the first treasures in the last daylight, lit streetlamps and illuminated facades accompany the rest of the route, and they reach the finish after dark.

The glowing tablet screen helps even more here than during the day. The map is easy to read, and anyone who needs extra light for the path or a facade detail can simply use their phone’s flashlight.

Two things belong in the invitation: comfortable shoes and a warm layer of clothing. A fall evening can cool down fast, and the teams are on the move outdoors the whole time.

Prague and Brno

Enjoy the special set of Halloween questions in both Treasure Hunt Prague and Treasure Hunt Brno. Both are city games, so the questions are tied to specific places the team walks past.

We don’t design a new route when you book. We pick the game in the area that best fits your party venue and simply add the Halloween questions to it.

Prague offers a dense network of lanes and riverbanks where teams often cross paths and keep an eye on each other’s progress. Downtown Brno is more compact, so teams stay closer together and reach the finish comfortably on foot.

The Finish at the Party

The route ends at the Halloween party venue. Teams arrive warmed up from walking, full of stories from the streets, and don’t need to travel anywhere else.

We’ll connect the game to the venue you’ve already booked. Just let us know where the party will be, and we’ll put the finish line right there.

If you want to bring the spooky atmosphere indoors too, we run Brain Party with a Halloween round. For corporate events year-round, the classic Treasure Hunt as a company party program is a better fit, and for December there’s a Christmas party with an escape game. The Halloween game belongs outside, in the fall streets.

Brno holds 59 treasures, from the Cabbage Market up to Špilberk Castle.

Colleagues and Partners

The game works just as well for your own employees as for business partners. Teams can be mixed across departments and even companies, because at each of the treasures it’s teamwork that counts, not your position on the org chart.

We routinely prepare our games in Czech and English versions. All players play in one chosen language, so when you invite international partners, you only need to pick the language in advance.

When It Rains

Peace of mind is part of every booking: the program goes ahead on the original date regardless of the weather.

The city Treasure Hunt can’t be moved indoors, because its questions are tied to outdoor locations. If the weather doesn’t allow the game outside, a story game in indoor mode runs in its place. The team sits together in a hall, meeting room or restaurant, and the questions appear on the screen one after another.

The evening keeps its competitive edge and shared experience; it just moves under a roof, closer to the party.

What to Arrange in Advance

Planning goes quickly when you have four pieces of information ready.

  • The city and the party venue where the game should end
  • The date and a start time based on dusk
  • The language the teams will play in
  • Clothing tips for the participant invitation

Send us the date and the address of your party in Prague or Brno, and we’ll place the finish of the Halloween game right at its door. Teams then put down their tablets and keep the fun going without any transfers. Enjoy the special set of Halloween treasures and questions in both cities. All you need to do is pick the evening and a start time at dusk.
