Team Building Games for Companies: Outdoors, Indoors and Online
TerraHunt team building games are played outdoors in the city, indoors and online. Here's how the Treasure Hunt and story games work, what happens when it rains and how to choose the right option.
Team building geolocation games for companies are team activities in which colleagues have to agree and solve tasks together. The team gets tablets or phones with our GPS app, sees treasures on the map and heads out to hunt them. Our team building games are played outdoors in the city, indoors in a hall and online. You can choose a Treasure Hunt at a specific location, or story games that we bring to you.

What you need to know before you book.
- The Treasure Hunt is a relaxed exploration game in which teams with tablets or phones hunt treasures on a map at a specific location.
- We bring story games to you; they’re built on ciphers, rebuses, riddles and brain teasers and are played outdoors, indoors and online.
- When it rains, the program goes ahead on the original date, because a story game in indoor mode runs instead of the classic Treasure Hunt.
- You choose between full-service event management with instructors and a self-guided game on the players’ own phones.
Why Team Building Programs Work
They work because a team gets nowhere without agreeing. Colleagues have to decide where to head, who reads the question and who watches the map on the tablet screen.
The team splits up the roles on its own. One person solves, another calculates, someone else leads the group to the next treasure and everyone else tells them which way is shorter. This behavior can then carry over naturally into working relationships.
The next reason is simpler. A shared experience stays with people for a long time, and this kind of event builds friendly relationships in a completely natural way.
The game has no training ambitions. Nobody sits through a lecture, nobody fills out a questionnaire, people just play, and that’s the biggest advantage for the whole event.
Treasure Hunt in the City
The Treasure Hunt is a relaxed exploration game for teams who want to get to know the place where they are. On the map in the tablet or phone, the team sees treasures, walks to them and at each one answers a question tied to the surroundings.
A treasure activates when the team gets within roughly 10 to 40 meters of it, depending on the terrain and the nature of the game. The team then looks for the answer around them, out in the field.
In the Treasure Hunt, it’s not the smarter or the faster team that wins, but the more patient and observant one. The one that can explore its surroundings and find the answer on the ground.
A good example is Treasure Hunt Prague. The game exists for that location and the questions are tied to specific places; we just pick the most suitable game based on where you’re holding the event.
The number of treasures doesn’t matter; every game keeps a team busy for 2 to 3 hours, and more treasures mean more room for strategy.
The game types differ only in how the treasures appear on the map and the order in which the team collects them:
- Treasure Hunt: the team sees all the treasures on the map and chooses its own order.
- Challenge Tour: all the treasures are visible, but they’re numbered and visited in a fixed order from start to finish.
- Mystery Trail: the map only ever shows the next treasure, the team doesn’t know the route in advance, and a wrong answer earns a penalty treasure.
Story Games Anywhere
Story games don’t need a specific city; we bring them to wherever you are. They’re built on ciphers, rebuses, riddles and brain teasers woven together by a story, and they’re harder than the Treasure Hunt.
We put together the story game route based on your venue. It’s played outdoors, indoors and online, so you can tie it to a space you’ve already booked.
The main difference from the Treasure Hunt is the pace. Instead of a walk with questions about the surroundings, the team decodes, argues over a cipher and moves the story forward until they’ve cracked the whole thing.
What If It Rains
The program goes ahead on the original date even in the rain. That’s our guarantee: instead of the classic Treasure Hunt, a story game runs in indoor mode, or online.
Indoor mode is played in a hall, a meeting room or a restaurant. The team sits together and the questions pop up on the screen one after another.
The online version is designed for a team that isn’t physically together, for example because of remote work or business trips abroad. All you need is a web browser and Teams, Zoom or Meet.
You don’t have to order the guarantee separately. It’s part of every booking, so your event date holds regardless of the forecast.
With Instructors or on Your Own
Both paths lead to the same experience; they differ in how much of the work you leave to us.
With full-service event management, our instructors arrive with a tablet for each team. They explain the rules, start the game and run the event from kickoff to the results announcement.
The self-guided game runs on the players’ own phones in our map app. We send QR codes and a video guide, players download the app before the start and show up with a charged phone. With instructors on our tablets we handle groups of up to 300 people, and on players’ own phones there is no capacity limit.
We’re the direct operators of our Treasure Hunts and story games, and we’ve been running Treasure Hunts since 2013. In that time, we’ve played thousands of games across the Czech Republic and abroad. We have our own software and create our own content, so we know what players enjoy.
- Full-service event management: instructors, a tablet for each team and the event run from kickoff to the results announcement.
- Self-guided game: players’ own phones, a QR code, a video guide and scoring handled by the app.
How to Choose a Game
Start from where and under what conditions the event will take place. Choose based on your situation:
- Event in a city: a Treasure Hunt at the location where your company is based or where you’re heading, for example Treasure Hunt Prague.
- Uncertain weather: a story game, played outdoors, indoors and online, plus the guarantee included with every booking.
- Remote team: the online version in a web browser, connected over Teams, Zoom or Meet.
- International team: the game runs in a single language and is commonly created in both Czech and English versions.
